Currant Bun

Currant Bun is Cockney slang for Sun.

"Must be true cos I read it in the Currant Bun."
Not only does Currant Bun indicate the solar sun - and is thus used in descriptions of weather and climate - it's also widely used as the nickname of the popular national UK newsaper The Sun. In fact The Sun itself and its readers commonly refer to the paper as the Currant Bun.
